ACIIDS 2015 Conference in Bali

The 7th Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (ACIIDS-2015) took place in Bali, Indonesia. ACIIDS 2015 was co-organized by Bina Nusantara University from Jakarta (Binus University) oraz Wroclaw University of Technology in cooperation with IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Computational Collective Intelligence, IEEE Indonesia Section, Ton Duc Thang University and Quang Binh University z Wietnamu. This year the conference was organized under the honorary patronage of prof. Lena Kolarska-Bobińska, the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

General Chair of the conference was Professor Ngoc Thanh Nguyen. Eight representatives of our Department: Prof. Ngoc Thanh Nguyen, Prof. Aleksander Zgrzywa, Dr. Bogdan Trawiński, Dr Kazimierz Choroś, Dr. Marek Kopel, Dr. Adrianna Kozierkiewicz-Hetmańska, Dr. Dariusz Król and Dr. Andrzej Siemiński took part in the conference. Researchers from our Department were engaged in the organization of ACIIDS 2015.

Submissions came from 44 countries from all over the world. Each paper was peer reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee consisting of above 250 scientists from 64 countries. Only 117 papers with the highest quality were selected for oral presentation and publication in the two volumes of Springer’s LNCS/LNAI series (Vol. 9011 and 9012). Moreover, 38 additional papers were presented during poster sessions and were published in the form of chapters of the scientific monograph issued in Studies in Computational Intelligence (vol. 598) by Springer Verlag.

Keynote speeches were given by Prof. Nikola Kasabov from Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), Prof. Suphamit Chittayasothorn from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (Thailand) and Dosam Hwang from Yeungnam University (Korea).

Dr. Bogdan Trawiński chaired the special session on Multiple Model Approach to Machine Learning (MMAML 2015) with 8 papers accepted and orally presented. The MMAML 2015 Special Session was co-organized by three colleagues Dr. Edwin Lughofer (Austria), Dr. Tomasz Kajdanowicz (Poland), and Dr. Bogdan Trawiński (Poland).
